Content Creator

Develop written and audio visual content.

Upskill your team with the creative and digital skills needed to produce impactful content that connects with modern audiences. This Level 3 apprenticeship develops practical content creation abilities – from copywriting and visual design to audio and video production – helping organisations strengthen their marketing, communications, and brand presence.

Role Overview

Content Creators support organisations by producing engaging digital content that informs, promotes, and builds relationships with audiences. This apprenticeship develops the creative and technical skills required to plan, create, and manage content across a variety of digital platforms.

Learners gain experience producing written, visual, audio, and video content, using industry tools and techniques to ensure content is engaging, accessible, and aligned with organisational goals. The programme prepares individuals to contribute to digital campaigns, social media, websites, and internal communications, making it ideal for those starting out in creative or marketing-focused roles.

By completion, learners will be able to:

  • Plan and develop creative content in line with the brief and budget/costs
  • Interpret the strategy and objectives of the brand and align these to the content
  • Research, prepare and develop the media messaging to maximise audience engagement
  • Develop and create written content that can be used across a variety of media
  • Create visual and audio content that can be used across a variety of media
  • Store content securely and methodically to enable efficient access and retrieval
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to plan and align content delivery with business objectives
  • Manage content online using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the content produced against the original plan and recommend improvements

Module breakdown

Onboarding & Induction 

Welcome session, apprenticeship overview, content standards, and creation of Individual Learning Plan (ILP). 

Content Creation Foundations 

Storytelling, copywriting, brand tone of voice, accessibility, copyright, and content planning. 

Digital Content Production 

Social media content, blogs, video and audio production, image editing, and publishing workflows. 

Content Performance & Improvement 

Analytics, audience insights, optimisation techniques, and continuous improvement of content. 

Gateway Preparation

Portfolio completion, skills review, and preparation for End-Point Assessment (EPA). 

End-Point Assessment

Portfolio showcase, professional discussion, and content review assessed by an independent assessor. 

  • Blended delivery: A mix of on-the-job learning and remote training sessions

  • End-Point Assessment: Includes observation, a professional discussion and work portfolio review
