Level 3 is for those wishing to further develop their career in childcare and potentially move into a more senior role. The Early Learning and Childcare pathway meets the qualification requirements stated in the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework, and the Social Care pathway meets the National Care Standards requirements. At Level 3, workers gain an in-depth knowledge of childcare and development and are expected to promote good practice in all aspects of their work.

The Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship is for those working directly with children, young people and their families to achieve positive and lasting change. It focuses on developing the knowledge and skills needed to provide effective support, safeguard vulnerable individuals, and promote resilience and wellbeing. Apprentices will learn to work across different services and settings, building strong relationships and delivering high-quality care and guidance. This qualification prepares learners for specialist roles within childcare, youth work or family support, with clear opportunities for progression.
